HUB made for a great weekend, best of the year so far, for me and 3 friends all from Barnsley. The band selection was amazing for me, from 3 oclock saturday and 4 oclock sunday i knew the majority of songs played. I would definately be heading back next year with a line up as good, and since i had already seen Francesqa and The Blackout before paying more than 8 quid for each, i did wonder where the catch was for an 8 quid ticket.
All I would say is i thought half an hour for the earlier bands was quite a short set so if they could be made longer set for next year that would be great, but both headliners had enough time to make up for it and all bands were great in their time given.
Also, I thought the band merchandise was quite small scale, I would have bought a tshirt or hoody had a seen one I’d liked but there wasnt that much selection, although this may be more down to the bands rather than the festival.
One final suggestion would be lower the volume of the rides close to the stage because when standing a bit back from the stage it could be heard and since the live music is the main feature I thought it was unnecessary.
But all in all, great weekend, I’ll do my best to see you next year
(But if the organisers happen to be bored over summer im sure Barnsley has a few suitable locations to try something similar, but maybe i’m asking too much:))
