Good news for the groupies out there

Over 700 of you voted for who you wanted to open the main stage at this years HUB – the winners are Make Like Madeline and A Death in Brazil! They will open the main stage at 11am. Check out the full main stage line up at www.hubfestival.co.uk/whats-on/main-stage/

Radio City 96.7 & HUB 2010 Join Forces!

HUB Festival Summer Jam 2010 – The Homecoming!

You’re invited to the UK’s biggest and best, award winning urban youth festival;  HUB Festival 2010. From 29th – 30th May (11am-6pm), skaters, bboys, bgirls and bands will take over Otterspool Prom (further south than the old site!) for a bank holiday weekend of rockin’ out to some sweet beats, chillin’ with your mates and having an all-round amazing time which will have you Twittering, Facebooking and MySpacing away for rest of 2010.

So you thought we couldn’t top HUB 2009? Well you were wrong. Not only are we celebrating our homecoming, we’ve teamed up once again with world class skater Pete King and his team at King Ramps to bring you Europe’s largest portable vert ramp; a replica on Tony Hawks Vert, amateur street course comps featuring some of the UK’s top riders, thousands of pounds worth of prizes to give-a-way, free promos, aftershow parties and legends in BMX, Skateboarding and In-line.

This year HUB Festival has joined forces with Streetwaves 2010.  This will see the city’s brightest, talented and most ready acts battling it out at heats before a panel of industry experts. The winners will get the chance to perform at the festival.

And that’s not all – This year there year there will be opportunities for the successful Streetwaves bands to perform at some of Liverpool’s hottest music events like Sound City in May and Liverpool Music Week in October/November.  There will also be the chance to attend one of Sound City’s high profile conferences with international experts within the industry. Keep logging on for news about more exciting opportunities for applicants.

The main stage will be a showcase for all types of music, from indie to funk, rock to soul, hip-hop to metal – with heaps of energy, style and passion.

The Mouse Outfit,  Elementals, Hippies On The Hill and Esco Williams formerly known as JSoul are already lined up to appear…

King Ramps to build biggest skate park to date

Pro skateboarder Pete King and his team at King Ramps are set to build the biggest skate park to date with Europes largest vert ramp; a replica of the legendary Tony Hawks vert ramp.

Pete who is currently sponsored by Vans and Quicksilver will be joined by some of the biggest names including BMX legend Jerry Galley, skateboard legend Rodney Clarke and pro BMX rider Bas Keep.

Amateur comps will take place for under 16′s and over 16′s and will be judged by some of the top pro’s who have appeared at the Newquay Boardmasters Vans Summer Sessions and NASS Festival.

This years skatepark will feature some of the elements from leading extreme sports event NASS Festival along with equipment from the Red Bull Manny Mania Tour.

Etnies Prizes for Skate Park Comps

Not only will the winners of the Skate Park competitions win big cash prizes,  Etnies have donated goodie bags filled with caps, t’s, stickers, cool sunglasses and a voucher to claim a brand new set of Etnies wheels. Details of cash prizes in Skateboarding, BMX and In Line to be announced on 14th April.
