Previously ‘Yerba’ – It all started for A Death in Brazil on 5th January 2009 and in a matter of months the young lads from Liverpool have just been signed to the brand new Liverpool label RMR Records.

Borstal burst onto the Liverpool underground scene in 2001 with plenty of original material and a lot of enthusiasm. Their unique style and experimental sound quickly gained favour with independent radio stations, broadcasting on the internet and became an underground hit with their anti-bullying anthem ?Help Me? With their reputation growing the duo look set to be better then they ever imagined they could be!

Band 4 – Slack Elvis

Previously ‘Marlowe’ – these young lads have returned to their rock roots of a stripped down 3 piece band.  With 2 successful UK tours under their belts and also gigs in Hamburg, Berlin and Cologne, Germany (headlining the john peel tribute festival 2nd year running) Slack Elvis continue to grow!

Band 5 – Strawhouses

Strawhouses have been called “brilliantly catchy, fearlessly emotive and unyielding forward-thinkers of modern music” (Simon S Wright, Sandman). Gripping melodies and soaring guitars, underpinned by inventive and at times unsettling rhythms form the basis of Strawhouses sound, whilst Paul’s lyrics range from everything from Orwellian conspiracies to the collapse of everyday relationships.
