Soul Powered “Tear it Up International Bboy Championships”

“NO JUDGING, JUST STRAIGHT OUT DANCE WAREFARE”

Once again the Soul Powered team are returning to the HUB to deliver the Tear It Up International Break-dance Championships. This year’s event will play host to two days filled with Bboy and B-girl action as the hottest international dance talent will converge on Liverpool to battle it out for big cash prizes.

Day 1 will see the greatest dance crews in the UK battle it out for the chance of competing against some of the world’ top break dance talent on Day 2. Crews to be in attendance from the UK will feature the stars of the new wave of dance related TV shows such as “Got to dance”, “Britain’s best dance crew”, “So you think you can dance” and “Move it like MJ”. Many of the competitors in those programmes actually came from the UK Bboy scene and will be battling out on Day 1.

Music from Red Bull’s event vehicle will be supplied by DJ Rasp the current UK DMC Champion who also added the UK IDA title to his DJ trophy case and has represented the UK in the world finals earlier this year. Rasp will be accompanied by up and coming northern lad, DJ Wispa who’s been busy on tour this year and is preparing to release his first album.

Also planning to return to Liverpool this summer is DJ Toots of the Sony Street Team previously playing alongside the likes of Trevor Nelson, Steve Southerland and Shortee Blitz. The music on the Soul Powered stage will be a blend of the best true school hip hop and break beats.

International Crews this year will include the 2007 Hub champions and stars of Holland’s Got Talent, the “Hustlekidz”. The new underground sensations “Supremos Crew” from Valencia in Spain and soon to be confirmed the World Famous Vagabonds from France. Last year’s champs and crews from Sweden and Germany will also be travelling across seas to battle against the UK’s finest.

Judging this line up of international legends will be old school legends Tuff Tim Twist of the Rock Steady Crew, Garbor from Hungary’s Enemy Squad and Bboy Pepito coming all the way from Australia and member of the Mighty Zulu Kingz.

There will be a dynamic display of flips, power moves, routines and fast footwork utilised as weapons in all out dance floor warfare. There will also be plenty of popping and locking action and plans are being laid to incorporate a stand up hip hop dance element showcasing Locking, popping, Housedance and New Style.

There are also plans to include last year’s longest six step comp, longest power move and the legendary North vs South battle along with spot competitions for B-girls, footwork, tricks and flips to keep the crowd entertained in between the main battles.
